Why won’t my case won’t fit together properly?

A 1mm gap is common. If the gap is larger or you can’t get the two halves together, there are a few things you need to check. Make sure the top panel is properly aligned and fitted with the pegs from the dvd drive. On the other side, make sure the 4 pegs in the center fit into the holes in the metal. These can be tough to see on the smoke case. Finally, if you’re having trouble closing the back, you may need to remove any extra plastic from the molding process using a metal file. But if you can get the clasps to snap together, it should be fine.

Do I need another connector for my light kit?

The instructions we have up for the light kits are actually for an older version that plugged into the fan cord. The problem with those was they pulled too much power from the fan and cause the unit to overheat. The new light kits plug in between the dvd drive and motherboard, avoiding that problem all together. So just remove the SATA cable and replace it with the light kit.

Is my GhostCase kit missing pieces?

First, check to see which type of GhostCase you ordered on your invoice. The Black and Barebone GhostCases do not come with wind tunnels, clear disc drive lids or light kits. The images below show all the pieces that should come with your kit. If you still believe you’re missing something, send us an email at support@ghostcase.com.

What’s the difference between a Black and a Smoke case?

The Smoke case is semi-transparent, it’s black until you turn it on, then you can see through it with LEDs on. The Black case is a glossy black and not transparent at all.

Will this case work with my HDMI/non-HDMI xbox?

Our GhostCases are designed to fit both HDMI and non-HDMI xboxes. There’s one hole in the back that will allow you to plug either in.

How can I tell which type of disc drive I have?
